For this fifth edition, Janne van Gilst took the participants on a trip called Lore of the Land: an excursion in a covered wagon, where she told stories about the island of Noord-Beveland. Lore of the Land is a sequel to Geestgrond (Ghost Territory), Van Gilst's graduation project, in which she brought to life stories told by her family about the island, by combining them with photos of the landscapes.
The work she made for this event also led back to this way of experiencing landscape. Van Gilst guided the participants through different times. The topics she talked about are drawn from local narrations and traces in the landscape: farmer life, the World War II, the 1953 North Sea flood, as well as the current state of the island – its recreation, agriculture and politics. Van Gilst also read stories written by J.M.A. Biesheuvel, who lived on the isle of Noord-Beveland in the seventies.

For So You Don’t Get Lost in the Neighborhood, Vleeshal invited artists from Zeeland to take on the role of a compass and guide their audience to interesting and inspiring places in Zeeland. The title comes from the English translation of Patrick Modiano’s book Pour que tu ne te perds pas dans le quartier written in 2014, the year Modiano won the Nobel Prize in Literature. This series took place from 2015-2018.
