The eyes likely originated
One and a half billion years ago
As a small spot
With photosensitive cells
About which the skin is like is a lens
that has yet to form.

...

The horizon or skyline is
The ultimate boundary of what
The eye can only observe
And always has a special
Power of attraction. It is
A place that does not exist,
Always at the same height as
One's own eye. But at its highest
It is the focus of the gaze
And ultimately, a person creates
What he sets his eyes on.
