D'Aronco & Gansberger, 2009 | The Unbearable Limit of the Exhibition Space | Dario D'Aronco, Max Gansberger

For the first exhibition of the season Vleeshal Zusterstraat hosted two artists that dealt with the topic of the exhibition space and its limits.

In this case the artists attempted to cross the borders of the space trying to find connection with the environment and the local context. 'The Unbearable Limit of the Exhibition' Space tried to show the exhibition space as an extension of an art practice and not only as a mere place.

Dario D’Aronco, who lives and works in Rotterdam, made the site-specific project 'recycledmusikolom a' that creates a dialogue with the surrounding context using the media of sound. His practice is often based on the translation of the context in the work itself. The Austrian Max Gansberger uses the landscape around the exhibition space, transforming the white space in a natural surrounding.
