The extensive series that preceded this publication about Siegfried Anzinger's work is indicative of the efforts made to clarify the meaning of his work. This would in itself be sufficient to justify that from the generation of painters that made more or less furore since the 1970s, Anzinger should be considered as being part of a select group of artists that prove to resist the international wear and tear of trends and hausses.
