About Vleeshal
Vleeshal is a center for contemporary art that invites (inter)national artists to develop new works for its unique Gothic exhibition space. There are three to four exhibitions each year, which vary from solo to group exhibitions as well as in media, ranging from films, videos and performances to music, paintings and installations.
Vleeshal is not your typical museum. It functions as a center for commissioning new contemporary art while also having an exceptional collection of contemporary art on long-term loan to the M HKA in Antwerp. In following a rhythm of creating a new exhibition every three months, you are invited to come time and again. Check our agenda for upcoming projects
Nomadic Program
In 2015, Vleeshal started its Nomadic Program to expand on its mission to provide space for experimentation. With the program, Vleeshal examines what it means to present artworks in unusual contexts. The curators of the International Nomadic Program for 2024–2025 are Maria Sarycheva and Elena Ishchenko who form the curator duo League of Tenders. Their program Repetition is a Form of Changing is an attempt to practice non-imperialistic and anti-colonial ideals. Browse Repetition is a Form of Changing.
