Through their shapes and masses they write values that they want to embody. Values are able to define the actions of the subject. But artifacts, which by definition have no value, can regulate the emotions of subjects. Moreover: Sartre noticed the tempting goal of limiting onself to the object of another. In order to be able to maintain control, it must not only be temptation but also the power to operate an object. The actual incarations of temptation and power are not the subjects but the objects.
