On Friday, June 7, it was time for the second edition of Queer Cheer. In December 2023, Vleeshal organized the first edition of this queer party during Freddie Mercado's exhibition Freddie. We invited DJs and drag performers to Vleeshal to celebrate their identities together with our visitors. June is Pride Month and especially for this occasion, we organized Queer Cheer: Gender in the Blender. From 9pm to 1am visitors could join us at Vleeshal where various drag artists and DJs performed. There was a DJ set by Nina Ophelia and a drag performance by the Bolus Boys and Titane. Every 45 minutes another performance took place.

Prior to the party, a Queer Cheer ticket allowed visitors to join a ‘get ready with us’ at Vleeshal for free. With a makeup artist and drag performers, people could experiment with makeup and outfits and received advice for optimal gender blending.

The party was financially supported by the Krijger Zuiderwijkstichting and organized in collaboration with Vleeshal’s queer staff and local LGBTQIA+ organization PRISM.
