Public Program Strata of the Slow, Buried Trench | Christian Naujoks

Vleeshal organised a concert by German composer Christian Naujoks, within the framework of Marina Pinsky's solo show Strata of the Slow, Buried Trench.

Christian Naujoks’s music has gained notable attention amongst contemporary artist. He composed the music for Ei Arakawa’s installation at Skulptur Projekte Münster, and he collaborated on the original score for Loretta Fahrenholz’s film Two A.M. (2016). Other recent collaborations include performances at Kunstverein Düsseldorf and Kunstverein in Hamburg. Artist Sung Tieu made the video for his song Corralito from his album Wave.

In her studio in Brussels, Marina often listened to Christian Naujok's music. His focus on sound resonance and acoustics is what inspired the idea for a concert in Vleeshal; a space known for its gothic architecture and challenging acoustics.

This concert was commissioned by Vleeshal in the framework of the exhibition.
