On Saturday, September 22 Dining with Vleeshal! took place, a festive evening in our Gothic exhibition space to celebrate Vleeshal and its supporters. The dinner took place amidst the group exhibition Paranoid House with works by Anders Dickson, Philipp Gufler, Henna Hyvärinen, Becket Mingwen and Sophie Serber. The dress code was Rebel Chic.
This annual dinner focussed on artists from Zeeland that took part in our public program So You Don’t Get Lost in the Neighborhood: Dave Meijer, Christian van der Kooy, Tamara Dees, Giel Louws, Janne van Gilst, Paul Hendrikse, broeder Dieleman, Hans Overvliet, Bert en Lysandre Begijn, Dani Ploeger, Warre Mulder, Maartje Korstanje, Paul Nieboer, Yoeri Guépin, Jorieke Rottier, Nanda Runge, teja van hoften and Roos Nieboer. From 2015 to 2022 these artists have taken our audience to interesting and inspiring places throughout Zeeland. During our dinner, (most) of the participants were present to share a meal with us.
Especially for our dinner, the artists designed a placemat, a unique edition for the guests to take home afterward. Artist Tiiu Jansen, also from Zeeland, was invited to create an artistic intervention that took place during the dinner. As part of her graduation project, she researched the dependency people have or develop in day-to-day interactions with strangers.
