Friday, september 17, at 3 p.m., performance at Damplein, Middelburg

From the speech at the founding of the Podio del Mondo per l’Arte, February 6, 1976, in Middelburg by Marinus Boezem:
‘The Podio del Mondo per l’ Arte, (previously the Grain Exchange) will be a podium where artists can advance their theories, their views and their work. Artists from The Netherlands and other countries will be invited to devise stones with texts or image, which will be added to the Podio del Mondo per L’Arte on a regular basis. In the course of time a podium will be formed in this way, with ‘mental images’ in hardstone, as a ground for current art and the future avant-garde.’
The artworks placed to date are by Herman de Vries (1976), Mass and Individual Moving (1976), Peter van Beveren (1976), Maurizio Nannucci (1977), Ernesto Tatafiore (1977), Willem Buys (1977), Terry Fox (1978), Ewerdt Hilgemann (1978), Pieter Engels (1979), Yutaka Matsuzawa (1980), Joop Dam (1981), Christian Megert (1982), Dorothee von Windheim (1982), Lawrence Weiner (1984), Braco Dimitrijevic (1987), Aldo & Hannie van Eyck (1995), Willem Breuker (1998).
